Atlantic Youth Hockey League

 

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (March 2, 2018) – The Atlantic Youth Hockey League (AYHL) will once again descend upon the Ice Line Quad Rinks and Oaks Center Ice for its annual playoffs. The three-day event is set to begin with a pair of games at the Squirt (10U) level, when the Long Island Gulls take on the North Jersey Avalanche in Squirt Minor action and the Gulls take on the Connecticut Roughriders in a Squirt Major contest. Both games begin at 7:30 a.m. at Ice Line.

All AYHL playoff games will once again be streamed via HockeyTV, with live play-by-play being provided for both semifinal games and the championship contest of each level. The entire broadcast schedule can be found via the AYHL portal on HockeyTV. Carmo Photography will also be on-hand to capture great moments throughout the weekend, including the on-ice championship ceremonies.

Games at the Squirt, Pee Wee and Bantam levels will have round-robin games on Saturday with the final games taking place early Sunday morning. Semifinals are scheduled for Sunday afternoon and evening before division champions are crowned on Monday, March 5. Four levels: 15-Pure, 16U American, 18U National Elite, and 18U National Premier will crown their postseason champions Sunday. The remaining Midget levels, 16U Elite and Premier, will crown a single champion Monday afternoon in the final game of the weekend. It’s the second consecutive season that the AYHL will conduct its playoffs with a Saturday through Monday format, as opposed to the Friday-Sunday model used in years prior. The Atlantic Youth Hockey League is the USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier I AAA youth hockey league of the Atlantic District.
