With the Fall Classic complete, the AYHL 2018-19 Season is now in full swing! There were total of 29 games played at The Ice House in Hackensack, NJ this past weekend for the 15-Pure, 16U & 18U Premier divisions.

The 15 Pure division, is looking to have some very good games and match ups this season. The Gulls, Royals, Avalanche, and Minutemen started off the season strong by winning both games they played this weekend. The Jr. Titans and Jr. Flyers each started the year 1-1 in some close games. As for Elite Hockey, Mercer, Colonials, and the Little Capitals they played some tough games but came up short when the 3rd period horn went off.

In the 16U Premier division, the tone was set by the North Jersey Avalanche, and Elite Hockey. Both teams went 2-0 on the weekend. The Avalanche were led by goaltender, Cameron Carroll who only allowed 1 goal on the weekend. Elite Hockey’s goalie, Ryan Nocerino faced 64 shots in 2 games stopping 58.

The North Jersey Avalanche had a 2-0 record at the 18U premier level as well, scoring 11 goals while only allowing 3. The Valley Forge Minutemen, also went 2-0 at the showcase. The Minutemen had a tough test Friday night against a strong physical Virtua Hockey team, beating Virtua in OT 4-3. The AYHL anticipates for another great season of Tier I hockey and wished the players, coaches, and officials the best of luck this season. Skate hard, have fun, and see you all around the rinks!
