Atlantic Youth Hockey League

 

 

 – The Atlantic Youth Hockey League (AYHL) will once again descend upon the Ice Line Quad Rinks and Oaks Center Ice for its annual playoffs. The three-day event is set to begin with a pair of games at the Squirt (10U) level, when the CT Whalers take on the LI Gulls in Squirt Minor action and Virtua Hockey take on the Valley Forge Minutemen in a Squirt Major contest. Both games begin at 7:30 a.m. at Ice Line.

All AYHL playoff games will streamed via LiveBarn, with live play-by-play being provided for championship contest of each level. The entire broadcast schedule can be found via the AYHL portal on LiveBarn. Carmo Photography will also be on-hand to capture great moments throughout the weekend, including the on-ice championship ceremonies.

Games at the Squirt, Pee Wee and Bantam levels will have round-robin games on Saturday and Sunday with the final games taking place early Monday morning. Semifinals are scheduled for Sunday afternoon and evening before division champions are crowned on Monday, March 4th. Five levels: 15-Pure, 16U American, 16U National Elite, 18U National Elite, and 18U National Premier will crown their postseason champions Sunday. RECAP:

 

With the 2019 season for the AYHL over there were several champions crowned at Ice Line in West Chester, PA.

We started out Championship game with an exciting 16U American overtime win by Team Maryland over the CT Chiefs. The Mercer Chiefs took the crown for the 16U National Premier Division.  The 18s were the Jr. Titans at the Nationals Elite 4-0 over the Long Island Royals and the 18U Premier the number 5 ranked North Jersey Avalanche took down the 18th ranked Virtua Hockey 4-1.

The North Jersey Avalanche also took down the Long Island Gulls 5-2 in the 15 Pure division. The long Island Gulls bounced back over the Avalanche at the squirt minor division. The squirt major and pee-wee minor divisions belong to the Valley Forge Minutemen. The Minutemen also took the last game of the playoffs in a great overtime against the Washington Little Caps at Bantam Major. Squirt major and Bantam minor Championship hardware went home with the NJ Colonials!

The Atlantic Youth Hockey League is the USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier I AAA youth hockey league of the Atlantic District. From Connecticut to Maryland, the AYHL’s membership is comprised of over 100 teams, representing four districts, and is spread across six playing divisions. The AYHL’s mission is to develop young players with competition, fun, and good sportsmanship, and move them on to the next phase of their hockey career.
