Atlantic Youth Hockey League

University of Massachusetts won the NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey National Championship Saturday night and eight former Atlantic Youth Hockey League players were on the bench. This was the first National Championship for the Minutemen. The first goal of the game for UMass (and the school’s first goal in a National Championship game) was scored by Aaron Bohlinger who played for the AYHL’s New York Saints and Connecticut Wolfpack.

Also on the ice were brothers Marc and Anthony Del Gaizo from Basking Ridge, NJ who played for the Rockets youth and junior programs. Other alumni included Kolby Vegara (Boston Junior Rangers), Bobby Trivigno (Long Island Royals), Oliver MacDonald (New Jersey Titans/North Jersey Avalanche), Jake Gaudet (Long Island Royals/Long Island Gulls) and Colin Felix (Team Comcast).

Congratulations to UMass and our alumni on their National Championship!
