Hershey Jr. Bears Join AYHL

The Hershey Organization will field five teams to compete in the Atlantic Youth Hockey League

The AYHL is proud to welcome the Hershey Jr. Bears organization into the league.  The Jr. Bears will field five teams for the 2008-2009 season.  They will include teams in the following divisions: 16U Midgets, Bantam Major, Bantam Minor, Peewee Minor and Squirt Major.

“We are very excited to be part of the Atlantic Youth Hockey League,” stated Don Helms, Vice President of Hockey Operations.  “We love that we now have the opportunity for our youth players to compete at the highest levels against the top players in the country.”

The Hershey organization will be developing many players from the Central Pennsylvania area.  The Jr. Bears have high hopes of giving players at the Bantam and Midget levels an opportunity to play junior hockey and higher levels in the future.

Helms is well aware that there may be growing pains and understands that it will take some time for the organization to come full circle, however he is very confident that the teams will prosper.

The Director of Hockey Operations for the Hershey Jr. Bears is Matt Yingst.  We wish the organization and players the best of luck in their inaugural season.
