EAST HAVEN, Conn. – The 18U Premier division race is tightening as teams jockey for position at the top of the standings. Philadelphia Little Flyers lead with 11 points, but the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers and WB/Scranton Jr. Knights are right on their heels with 10 points each, making every weekend matchup crucial.
The Jr. Flyers hit the road for two key matchups. Saturday, they travel to East Haven Veterans Memorial Ice Rink to face Elite Hockey Academy. The Jr. Flyers will look to continue their strong defensive play, having allowed just two goals in five games. Later Sunday, they head to Mennen Sports Arena to take on the New Jersey Colonials, where another road win could significantly impact the division standings.
The WB/Scranton Jr. Knights will also be busy, hosting New Jersey Devils Youth at Revolution Ice Centre on Sunday. A victory for the Knights could keep them within striking distance of the leaders and add more pressure atop the division.
With the standings close and multiple pivotal games on the docket, Week 8 promises to be a defining weekend in the 18U Premier division.
