Release Date : 01/27/2015

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Atlantic Youth Hockey League and the New Jersey Colonials are pleased to announce that alumnus defenseman Tyler Inamoto (’99 birth year/Chicago, Ill.) announced his commitment to the University of Wisconsin for the 2017-18 season.

Inamoto spent five seasons in the AYHL amassing 128 points (38G 90A) in 161 AYHL games, four with the Colonials (Squirt Minor through Bantam Minor) and one with the Mercer Chiefs (Squirt Minor) before moving to the prestigious Shattuck-St Mary’s School program.

“Ty was a great player for us,” said New Jersey Colonials Director of Hockey Noel Rubin. “His toughness and skill were the backbone in our national championship run [as we] came close to mission, losing in overtime and finishing as runner-up. His shot and puck moving ability were tremendous assets to the ‘99 team. We are very proud of him and wish him the best at Wisconsin.”

“Thank you to the New Jersey Colonials organization for helping me develop as a player during my time as a Colonial,” Inamoto said. “It was truly a pleasure to put on that jersey and make some of the best memories of my life. I had a great five years [there] and want to thank coaches Noel Rubin and Jerry Brophy, who were instrumental in my development as a player and a person.”
