Second AYHL Showcase to Begin Friday

CROMWELL, Conn. – The Atlantic Youth Hockey League’s second showcase is set to begin on Friday morning in Cromwell, Connecticut.

21 games, split between 12 at Midget 16U National and 9 at Midget 18U, will be played on Friday and Saturday, in conjunction with East Coast Classic Tournament’s College Cup event.

“We are excited to have our second showcase this weekend,” said AYHL Commissioner Gene Palecco. “Our last showcase was successful and we are proud to say that our second will be held with one of the top tournaments in the Northeast.”

The first-ever AYHL showcase was held October 2-4 at UMASS-Amherst. Scouts from Hockey East, the NAHL, prep schools and junior teams were in attendance.

The New Jersey Rockets and the Mercer Chiefs will open the weekend with a Midget 18U battle and the weekend closes with the weekend closes with a Midget 16U National battle between the New Jersey Devils Youth and Team Comcast.

Three games will played at the Freeman Athletic Center on the campus of Wesleyan University.
