Action kicks off in West Chester for 2025 Playoffs

WEST CHESTER, PA – Ice Line Arena was buzzing with energy on Saturday afternoon as AYHL Playoffs kicked off with games across 13 divisions. From 10U through 18U, games were filled with highlights among the best teams in the region.

In the 13 Pure division, the fourth seeded Washington Little Capitals delivered an upset in their opening round robin game against first seeded New Jersey Jr. Titans. The Capitals opened up scoring with two goals in the first period that went unanswered until the second period. They maintained a one goal advantage headed into the third, when the Jr. Titans started to come back.

At 11:48 in the period, the Jr. Titans managed to tie it up at 3-3. But the Capitals remained undeterred and quickly scored another one to earn a one goal advantage. The battle continued for another few minutes before the Jr. Titans pulled their goaltender and tried to put one in with the additional skater. Their effort was unsuccessful as the Capitals managed to maintain possession of the puck and put in an empty netter. The Capitals’ Owen McGall and Owen Criner were standouts of the game, with each earning three points.

Games continue tomorrow morning at Ice Line, with the first championship game in the 15 Pure Premier division kicking off at 10:30 a.m.
