18U All Stars battle it out in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, N.J. – The action was moving in the rink at Middletown Ice Arena on Saturday afternoon for the 2025 18U All-Star Game. Over 35 players took to the ice for a close game that showcased some of the best talent in the league.

It was a back and forth race, with the White Team on the board only 3:52 into the first period. Lachlan Bommer received a pass from Christian Bifano to get the opening advantage. White would score a second goal and looked like they were about to run away with the game. But the Blue Team was quick to respond, with Connor Lawrence feeding a pass to Evan Kensey who handled it briefly before firing the puck into the corner of the net one minute later. The first period ended 2-1 in the White Team’s favor.

Scoring remained even until halfway through the second period when Blue got another goal, this time by Lawrence who shot it over the keeper’s shoulder with help from CJ DiAgostino and Kensey. That line would go on to score another one, with Kensey earning his second goal of the game and Lawrence garnering another assist from Nikko Juliano. Headed into the intermission, it looked like Blue came back, but the battle for control would continue with a tied game.

In the third period, the White Team showed that they came out hungry for the victory. They put two more on the board, with Bommer earning another goal. Blue remained steadfast in the attempted comeback all the way to the end. With three minutes to go, Blue pulled their goaltender for the additional player advantage. The offense managed to develop several opportunities in front of the net, but in the end White managed to hold them off.
