DANBURY, Conn. – In the final weekend before the Thanksgiving break, three games on the 16U Premier division schedule have the opportunity to shake up the standings. The first placed North Jersey Avalanche are not playing this weekend and will maintain their spot on top as the only undefeated team so far this season. But the Danbury Hat Tricks, Philadelphia Junior Flyers and Wilkes Barre-Scranton Junior Knights all have games that could define their season.
The action kicks off Saturday afternoon between the Hat Tricks and Jr. Flyers. Right now, the Jr. Flyers stand in second place with 10 wins and 2 losses. The Hat Tricks have had a more balanced start to the year, with a 5-5 record.
The Jr. Knights will look to maintain their place in third up against the New Jersey Colonials on Saturday as well. Right now, the Jr. Knights are 6-5, while the Colonials are 4-5. A victory for the Colonials could elevate their standing and chart a new course for the team post holiday break.
The Jr. Flyers and Colonials take the ice on Sunday afternoon, which will be a tough mountain for the Colonials to climb. But if they are able to use the home ice advantage and snag a second win on the weekend, they could elevate themselves even further.
The Hat Tricks and Jr. Flyers face off at 1:45 p.m. in Danbury and the Jr. Knights and Colonials at 2:15 p.m. in Pittston. On Sunday, the Jr. Flyers and Colonials take the ice at 12:45 p.m. in Morristown.
