MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Each week has been a battle in the 16U Premier division, but as the season winds down and final games are played the fight for a playoff berth continues. Over Presidents Day weekend, third place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Junior Knights and fourth place New Jersey Colonials are slated for a competitive matchup.
The last time the two teams met was in November and the Colonials took the victory in an overtime game in Pennsylvania. A month prior, it was the Jr. Knights who skated to an easy, 4-1 victory on their home turf. This weekend, the action comes to New Jersey for the first time.
On their home ice, the Colonials will be relying on forwards Chase Olszewski and Michael Pirot to carry their offensive action, with Sean O’Gwen holding down the fort on defense. For the Jr. Knights, they will be looking to forward Deimantas Sulinskas with support from Alexander Carmanov on defense.
The game is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. puck drop at Mennen Sports Arena on Saturday, Feb. 15.
